Bearing Solutions for Steel & Metallurgy Industry

Détails

The metallurgy industry operates under some of the most demanding conditions for Industrial Bearings — extreme heat, heavy loads, shock, abrasive dust, and water spray. From continuous casting to hot and cold rolling mills, every production stage requires bearings that can withstand punishing environments while maintaining precision.

Key Applications:

- Continuous casting machines: Segment rollers, withdrawal straighteners, and roller tables use mounted Spherical Roller Bearings or cylindrical Roller Bearings engineered for temperatures above 200°C, often with oil-air lubrication or high-temperature grease.

- Hot rolling mills: Work rolls and back-up rolls rely on four-row Tapered Roller Bearings or four-row Cylindrical Roller Bearings to absorb enormous rolling forces and axial loads, frequently paired with high-precision oil film bearings.

- Cold rolling mills: Higher precision demands drive the use of multi-row Cylindrical Roller Bearings combined with double-direction thrust bearings, with oil-air lubrication controlling temperature rise at high speeds.

- Reheating furnace hearth rolls: High-temperature specialty bearings with ceramic rolling elements or heat-resistant cages operate continuously above 300°C.

Selection Considerations:

Heat rating, sealing integrity (to block scale and cooling water), and lubrication method are critical. Most bearing failures in metallurgical equipment stem from inadequate lubrication or contaminant ingress, making robust sealing and centralized lubrication systems essential.
